THE Guernsey Press prides itself on being the voice of the community, writes Suzanne Heneghan.

That is why reflecting and acknowledging all its news and achievements, big and small, is so important to us.

Throughout the years we have covered headline stories and events.

But we have also ensured we have been there to show what is happening day in, day out at the very heart of island life across 20 decades.

Be it the States, parish meetings, elections, summer shows, the Battle of Flowers, the Eisteddfod, Liberation Day, exam results days, sports events or royal visits, we have been there bringing you the stories and pictures you want.

We are always there to help organisations or promote celebrations within and throughout the community – from the Association of Guernsey Charities to the Sports Commission.

The list is long but within only the

last decade we have been media partner for: the Maison Million campaign to build Maison de Quetteville; the Rebuilding Les Bourgs hospice appeal; the Pink Ladies' Sunset Coastal Walk; Georgina's Gang; A Voice For

Victims; Every Child Our Future; the Get On Board skatepark appeal and, most recently, the SOS appeal to help Guernsey FC realise their FA Cup dream.

We also sponsor the Guernsey Press Ambassador of the Year Award, are supporters of the Barclays Wealth Champion Charities and continue to support the work of the Community Foundation.

Being a key part of the community is and always will be our number one goal – it is what has helped us remain as Guernsey's iconic newspaper for 200 years. ?
