Track not an option for Lions

THE Green Lions face more fixture misery and the prospect of falling even further adrift of CCL Premier League leaders Egham Town.

Four days away it is already looking highly doubtful whether Footes Lane will dry out in time to play Dorking on Saturday and an enquiry as to the availability of the Track as a standby pitch has been rejected.

‘The Track is not available,’ said GFC secretary Mark Le Tissier, pictured.

‘I have already made that enquiry. They are doing some remedial work on it,’ he added.

Meanwhile, the table-toppers have the opportunity of moving 13 points clear of the Green Lions by beating bottom of the table Hartley Wintney on Saturday.

If you ground share with a rugby team, in a low lying area, and then it rains a bit, what do you expect?

true but improvements to the pitch by knowledgable groundsman can inprove footes lanes with vast inprovements if the budget allowed for 24/7 playing conditions.

Footes lane is lacking in modern machinery which can work under wet conditions.

Supporters and players alike are being deprived of their enjoyment through lack of interest from the recreation committee.

We are not talking millions to bring the pitch to high standards just better forewarding maintenance.

Remember there is a herring bone drainage system beneath the playing surface which needs investigating into.Recreation Dept do hold the plans to the whole area of Footes Lane and maybe retired in the corner with the past committee.

One needs to put more pressure on them responsible for the decline in not caring

Having a drainage pipe system installed in the mid 1970.i am surprised that a vertispiker machine which shatters the subsoil without damage to playing surface being used.

Its a shame and very expensive to see matches cancelled through not improving or not investigating into what already lies under the surface at a depth of 18 ins a free running clay pipes system.

If you do not have such machine maybe l`ancresse golf course will help you out

Raise the pitch by three or four feet.Seems to work at The Theatre of Dreams

Can't do that Ray as the vertically challenged touchline spectators would lose half their view!
