GUERNSEY’S first ‘HR Star’ has been unveiled by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Katie Vidamour, co-founder of Focus HR Solutions, did not even know that she had been nominated for the award, launched this year by the CIPD to mark its centenary, until she was asked to attend the day before the ceremony.

Miss Vidamour has spent 12 years in the HR industry, joining Kleinwort Benson straight from school, and set up Focus HR six years ago.

‘I didn’t really want just a normal desk job,’ she said on her choice of career.
