FROM British classics to souped-up Smart Cars, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy at this year's Guernsey Classic Vehicle Club car show.
Organisers estimate that just under 3,000 people visited Saumarez Park on Sunday to see the more than 200 cars and bikes on show.
'Flipper' John Bichard from the GCVC said: 'We had a very good turnout of exhibits, a good knowledgeable crowd and despite the loss of my voice it was an excellent day for GCVC.'
Best in show was won by Paul Staples' 1957 Austin Metropolitan, restored by JA Biggs.
'It is a lovely car and John Biggs and his team did a wonderful job – it's all down to them, to be honest,' said Mr Staples.
'I love the car, I love the period and it is a very nostalgic car for me.'
Mr Staples has owned the Metropolitan for more than 20 years.
'It was used in the early '80s until the end of the '80s and then it sat in a field for 10 years before it was restored.'
He now drives it 'when the sun shines'.
'It is a fun vehicle but it is nearly 50 years old, it has a column gear change and it is not the most comfortable or easy to drive.'
