Le Roux is living the life he dreamed of in Aspen mountains

WHILE his home island grinds to a halt because of snow, there is one Guernseyman who spends his life working in the 'white stuff' and he is rather good at it.

WHILE his home island grinds to a halt because of snow, there is one Guernseyman who spends his life working in the 'white stuff' and he is rather good at it.

Phil Le Roux is an instructor with the Aspen Mountain Ski School in Colorado, USA, and he is also skipper of their men's demonstration team.

Last season, they came third in the World Ski Synchro Team Competition that was held in Aspen.

But for Le Roux (pictured), it is more about the enjoyment than serious competition.

'You always want to win, but very few situations in skiing are team events where you ski with each other, so it's great fun and that's why we do it,' he said.

The competition consisted of skiers from around the world judged on speed, dynamics, technical difficulty, synchronisation of the eight-person team and overall performance.
