Museums steer clear of selling Nazi items

MUSEUMS have to balance between history and good taste when it comes to selling Nazi items, Guernsey Museums director Dr Jason Monaghan has said.

MUSEUMS have to balance between history and good taste when it comes to selling Nazi items, Guernsey Museums director Dr Jason Monaghan has said.

The issue was raised following outrage that fancy dress shop Fancy That has been renting out Nazi uniforms and selling flags with swastikas on.

Manager Jo Francis said the business was not selling anything which was not available at local museums.

But all museums approached by the Guernsey Press said they kept any items they sold relating to the Nazis to a minimum.
