And they are justified.

The five-piece headline the first day of this year's Chaos festival and islanders are well advised to catch this band before they are rocketed into the stratosphere – if there's any justice in this world, that is.

Just listening to the singles Wake Up, Beggar, Lighthouse and tracks from the latest LP Signals it is clear this band are on the money; hitting the right balance of a riff-laden tune with a melody hook-line that will cement itself in your brain.

It's little wonder then that Radio One's Zane Lowe picked the single Beggars as the 'hottest record in the world' back in January.

Mallory Knox (named after Juliette Lewis's murderous character in the 1994 film Natural Born Killers) are tipped to be huge.

They've built up a fierce live following, are regularly selling out gigs in the UK, played last year's Download festival, have had rave reviews and recently enjoyed a top 40 placing for their latest LP.

Opportunity Knox indeed.
