A DJing legend is set to make his mark in Guernsey this Friday.

Dutch sensation Ferry Corsten will be making a rare appearance, not just for the island, but for Britain.

Few DJs can command the kind of worldwide adulation among dance music fans that Ferry Corsten can.

It's hard to believe it has been more than a decade since he put the sound of Dutch trance on the global dance map pretty much single-handedly. Back in 1999 the unstoppable euphoria of Corsten's tracks as System F, Gouryella and Verracocha exploded out of nowhere to become the anthems of their day, conquering floors from England to Ibiza and storming into the UK's national charts in the process.

Eleven years on, from Malaysia to Melbourne, Lebanon to Los Angeles, London to Ibiza, tens of thousands have experienced the Dutchman's latest extravaganza show, the Twice In A Blue Moon: The Experience Show.

Corsten's pioneering music combines trance, house and electro, but he is always going against the grain and was a dominant force in creating diversity within dance when he laid down the electro-spiked clarion call of 'Punk' back in 2005. And he's been cutting a new path yet again last year with his performances.

His efforts over the years have not gone unrecognised, having won many prestigious awards, including Best Producer Of The Year at the Ericsson Awards and Best Trance DJ at The Ibiza DJ Awards, and he has been consistently voted as one of the world's top 10 DJs for almost a decade in DJ magazines.
