REFORM of a key position in Sark moved a step closer yesterday after Chief Pleas voted to split the role of the Seneschal.
A draft law will now be drawn up which will need approval before the change happens.
Sark was under pressure to reform the position - the Seneschal is currently the island's chief judge and president of its parliament - after the English Court of Appeal ruled the unelected post was not human rights compliant.
Five of 25 members of Chief Pleas present voted against the proposal.
