TRAFFIC congestion on the Bridge, St Sampson's, has driven a plumber into proposing a new road layout.

Dave Martin, 63, has been left frustrated when he attempts to drive to his home in Bordeaux, via Bulwer Avenue.

'I get stuck in traffic with people wanting to go shopping on the Bridge,' he said. 'I do use the Co-op and the pharmacist but it depends what time of day it is, how bad the congestion is.'

Mr Martin, who is semi-retired, thinks a third lane should be introduced purely for people who want to shop on the Bridge or use the Co-op.
