Pam Carre was reacting to news that work on new housing development there could start in a few months.

Other residents' reactions were mixed.

Infinity Group bought Baubigny Farm last month, but was particularly interested in the planning permission for five two-bedroom homes and a single one-bedroom home in the garden.

Jamie Queripel has been an apprentice mechanic at Baubigny Garage Car Hi-Fi Plus for three years. He said the new one-way system around the high school had made the roads quieter and reduced business at the garage.
