HSSD will need more money to bring back reciprocal health agreement

HEALTH and Social Services will need more money from the States if it is to reinstate the reciprocal health agreement.

Speaking yesterday, minister Hunter Adam (pictured) said HSSD was working on its business case for a new service bid as it did not have the money within its budget.

The department estimates that if an agreement was made with the UK, it would cost between £500,000 and £1m.

But financing the deal would have to be agreed by the States after HSSD has ranked the bid and it has gone through the States Strategic Plan process.
