CHARLOTTE BREBAN made a late surge to set the pace after the first day of senior jumping in the BSJA Guernsey Spring Show yesterday at Chemin Le Roi.

CHARLOTTE BREBAN made a late surge to set the pace after the first day of senior jumping in the BSJA Guernsey Spring Show yesterday at Chemin Le Roi.

Riding Papillon III, she won both the senior large open followed by the prestigious local foxhunter, on both occasions with clear rounds, to take the lead for the Je Ne Sais Pas Memorial Trophy, for the best senior overall.

And in the latter class, she won by more than 10 seconds over the other clear round, that of Snaffles Purple Patch, clocking a winning time of 38.97sec. in the process.

But the earlier senior large open had been far more closely fought, with Shelley Tostevin on Johan leading right up until the last rider of the class, namely Breban.
