CASTLE Cornet played host to an English Civil War camp yesterday to mark the 360th anniversary of the end of the siege.

A performance by Guernsey History in Action, a regimental march into the castle and artillery demonstrations were just some of the many activities.

Museums director Dr Jason Monaghan said it was lovely to bring the castle to life.

'It's especially good for the locals because a lot of them will have been to the castle before and this is something a bit different for them to see,' he said. 'It's been a lot of fun seeing all the demonstrations.

'There are a good number of people coming through the door too.'
