A TOWN retailer said he was totally fed up after having a window in his shop smashed for the fourth time.

Guernsey Bedding proprietor Peter de Laune thought he would have to pay £645 to have a new pane fitted after Friday night's anti-social behaviour. But police have spoken to the man believed to have caused the damage and he has paid for the window to be replaced.

'People behave very differently when they've had alcohol,' said Mr de Laune. 'From what I've been told by police there was a bit of a scuffle. Someone appears to have tried to separate it, but ended up breaking the window.

'I now trust the man involved will move forward with this experience with better consideration.'
