Deputy defends Canada trip funded by taxpayers
HOUSING minister Dave Jones has defended his decision to travel to Canada on taxpayers' money for a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association regional conference.
HOUSING minister Dave Jones has defended his decision to travel to Canada on taxpayers' money for a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association regional conference.
Deputy Jones (pictured) attended the event at Prince Edward Island from 13 to 19 July to represent Guernsey and the region it belongs to within the association.
He went with his wife, Bonny, but says he paid for her flight and her other expenses.
His flight was funded by CPA Guernsey's 'small and stable' budget, which is allocated annually by Treasury and Resources.
