Successful end to Barber's College career

AFTER occupying first and second place in the UK schools rifle-shooting championship at Bisley in two successive years, Max Barber has rounded off his Elizabeth College shooting career by winning the Cadet Open Championship in Canada.

AFTER occupying first and second place in the UK schools rifle-shooting championship at Bisley in two successive years, Max Barber (pictured) has rounded off his Elizabeth College shooting career by winning the Cadet Open Championship in Canada.

He ended a week's shooting at the Connaught Ranges in Ottawa three clear points ahead of his nearest rival, a Quebec Canadian.

In addition to the Championship Gold Badge, young Barber also won two major aggregates, the Strachan Challenge Trophy and the Russell G. Potter Memorial Prize.

Shooting for the Great Britain cadets and a more senior under-25 team, he also distinguished himself with the top score in two international matches.
