IF ONE man is going to have a say on this year's FNB Priaulx League title race, it could be Marc McGrath.

First game of the season it might have been for the reigning Channel Island champions, but what a statement by the little striker as he bagged a quite brilliant hat-trick to earn all three points.

He already has nine goals this campaign and common sense would suggest plenty more to come, as the home side simply could not cope with Saints' attacking prowess.

True, young James Hamon made two important first-half saves, the first of them splendid, but his opposite number Rhys Gower was busier at the other end, albeit with an exceptional performance.

However, the first thing that Gower was forced to do was pick the ball out of his net within five minutes, as McGrath produced a moment of pure class.
