STAFF need more time to adapt to the changes caused by Health and Social Services efforts to cut costs, the department has said.

It follows news that HSSD budget will be cut by £2.35m. next year.

The department has already made a series of changes to reduce costs by a total of £4.7m. this year and a spokesman said staff needed more time to adapt.

'Changing the way services are delivered will inevitably cause anxiety and uncertainty among staff while the changes take place.

'However, HSSD staff should be applauded for the efforts they have made to make these changes happen.'
