A GUERNSEY woman has been killed while cycling in London.

The young student, named locally as 22-year-old Eleanor 'Ellie' Carey, was struck by a lorry on an accident black spot crossing.

She was the 16th cyclist to die in London this year and was the victim of a junction identified by London Major Boris Johnson as needing work to make it safer.

Tributes have been pouring in for Miss Carey on Facebook and more than 60 comments have already been posted in response to the tragedy, saying how much the 22-year-old student would be missed.
