HEALTH minister Hunter Adam has insisted there was no divide between the department's officers and its board over an amendment it has placed to the 2012 Budget, but admitted the motion was political.

The department wants the States to approve reinstating £1.35m. of £2.35m. Treasury has recommended removing from Health and Social Services cash limit, as part of savings it wants the States to generate within the efficiency drive called the Financial Transformation Programme.

Deputy Adam (pictured) rejected suggestions that the top civil servants within the department thought the full efficiencies needed could be made.
