A DECISION about whether to allow a building company director who is suing a surgeon amend his claim has been delayed.

It is expected that Lt-Bailiff Patrick Talbot will give his ruling this week whether he will allow Richard Ridout to make changes to the cause – the document that sets out his case.

Mr Ridout, director of Wheeler Developments Ltd, is suing consultant orthopaedic surgeon Ranjan Vhadra and anaesthetist Martin Wolfe after he developed severe complications, including a heart attack, following an operation to 'wash out" his right knee in 2007.

He is demanding more than £2.2m. in compensation, claiming the pair mistreated him.

Mr Vhadra and Dr Wolfe deny the claims.
