HOLDING Vale's hustings in another parish would be better than cramming residents into its overcrowded douzaine room, some parishioners have said.

But others insisted the event would not be the same if it was held outside the parish.

Vale candidates will once again be grilled at the venue at 7.30pm on Friday 13 April, despite at least 100 parishioners being forced to listen to proceedings on loudspeaker from outside the building in 2008.

Parish officials said the douzaine room was the only option for the parish - they hunted for a new location after the last election.

But some parishioners spoken to by the Guernsey Press yesterday said officials should look to another parish to solve its space issue.
