MEMBERS of the Guernsey Disability Alliance last night had the chance to question election candidates about the issues that affect them.

A speed hustings was held at Les Cotils Christian Centre and 50 would-be deputies attended.

There were 25 members of the charity present to hear the candidates' views on subjects such as education, employment, respite care, financial security and mental health.

It is the first time that the GDA has organised such an event, which saw the would-be deputies move around different tables.

They had a limited time at each place setting.

'It's exactly the same format as speed dating but with hustings instead,' said GDA chairwoman Shelaine Green.
