SUPPORT for island-wide voting remains strong among the public, responses to a Guernsey Press questionnaire have indicated.

Readers were given the opportunity online to fill in the Your Vote survey, which was sent out to all candidates in the general election.

And as it has from the candidates, island-wide voting, which this States failed to support, won widespread approval.

Out of 69 people who answered, 54 said that it should be introduced.

A Guernsey Press survey before the 2008 General Election also revealed a widespread consensus among the public that island-wide voting should be introduced.
