THE new States has the opportunity to put right years of neglect for disabled islanders, a campaign group has said.

The Guernsey Disability Alliance has invited deputies old and new to attend its annual meeting, where they can learn about disabled islanders' experiences of life in Guernsey.

Members will also be briefed on what happened at the alliance's speed hustings, which was held before the election.

GDA chairwoman Shelaine Green, pictured, said the past 12 months had been about creating strong foundations for the disability strategy, which will go to the States at the end of the year.

  • The public are welcome at the meeting, which is on Wednesday 2 May at 7pm in the Cambridge Room at Beau Sejour.
