JONATHAN Le Tocq will concentrate his efforts on getting the Home Department minister role after losing yesterday's race for chief minister.

He said that democracy had taken place in a civilised way.

'That's a good sign for the future,' he said. 'We now need to get on and start delivering.'

He said the States had overcome some difficult obstacles in the last few weeks.

'Plan A was always the Home Department, nothing ventured, nothing gained, but I'm quite happy to serve wherever,' he said.
