BEAU Sejour looks set to cost taxpayers more than £800,000 this year, Culture and Leisure has said, as an investigation into whether the centre should be outsourced continues.
The 2011 States accounts revealed that taxpayers paid £233,000 less to keep Beau Sejour open last year.
But the department's chief officer Dave Chilton warned islanders not to expect a repeat performance for 2012.
Although the cost of the leisure centre fell from £785,000 in 2010 to £552,000 in 2011, he said the department expected a loss of £836,000 this year.
