CONSTRUCTION of a new attraction at Oatlands has started without planning permission, according to worried residents.

The neighbours are concerned about the new structure, which has already had permission refused in one location.

No decision has been made for the new site off Oatlands Lane. But yesterday the main wooden frame of a new spiegeltent was going up.

One neighbour who has lived opposite Oatlands for 20 years and did not want to be named, said the move was 'disgraceful'.

The tourist attraction is owned by Peter Kaufman-Kent. Mr Kaufman-Kent was not available for comment yesterday, but in the current planning application, Lovell Ozanne architect Andrew Male said the new site was further away from residents so the noise would have less effect.
