GUERNSEY should have the same driving regulations as the UK, Unite union regional officer Bob Lanning has said in the wake of allegations about the number of hours worked by bus drivers.

A driver has approached him about the problem of working up to 90 hours a week.

Mr Lanning, pictured, said he would be meeting with a group of staff later this week to discuss the issue.

If the allegations of long hours were true, he said, that was not acceptable.

'The problem in Guernsey is there are no government working times directives and there needs to be,' he said.
