THE Flying Christine III marine ambulance last night returned to Guernsey after taking part in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant in London.

The boat was one of more than 1,000 vessels that took part in Sunday’s flotilla that sailed from Battersea Bridge to Tower Bridge to mark 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Chief Ambulance Officer Jon Beausire said participating in the event had been a once in a lifetime opportunity for the crew.

The local boat was representing the Bailiwick, St John and national ambulance services at the event.

I watched the whole pageant and spotted the "Christine III" once in a fleeting glimpse.

The BBC`s coverage was the worst I`ve ever seen with no cohesion and a total lack of correct facts or information. The presenters seemed only interested in their own donation to how brave they were being to be out in such sdverse weather.

Regularly we were informed the procession was travelling UP the Thames when it was, in fact travelling down.

There were very interesting boats in this pageant and a total lack of knowledge of their contribution to British history and commerce by the presenters.

If we ever have such an event in the future I surely hope that the BBC review how it was done in the past broadcasts and employ more competant reporters than the Divas we had on this occasion.

Well done St.John Brigade Flying Christine III crew for an pristine turnout on behalf of Guernsey and St.John Brigade. Welcome Home.

Well Done Christine III - many more should have watched Sky, Christine was shown there on numerous occassions, I personally have written to the BBC about the disgusting coverage of the whole week-end, great week-end no matter what.
