THE island should keep its options open to all forms of macro marine renewable energy technology, a presentation heard last night.

Last month, 24 renewable energy engineering students and four academics from the University of Exeter visited to Guernsey.

They carried out an assessment focused on the strategic implementation of wind, wave and tidal energy that is part of the work of Commerce and Employment's Renewable Energy Team to prioritise work streams and identify gaps in knowledge.

Their presentation at Les Cotils, put on by the Chamber of Commerce, gave a preview of their final report, which is due to be published shortly.

  • The full report will be published on www.guernseyrenewableenergy.com.
