ISLANDERS met old friends and new to talk about days gone by in the island at a special reunion yesterday.

After the phenomenal success of a Facebook group, which allows people to share pictures and memories of what life used to be like in Guernsey, its creator, Andre Le Goupillot, pictured, decided to hold a reunion at the Island View kiosk at La Vallette.

'The group has nearly 11,000 members now. It has just gone crazy,' the 45-year-old said.

'Today is just a chance for people to meet up to share old memories and perhaps see people they haven't seen in a long time.'

Guernsey Days Gone By was set up on 12 June and has 10,923 members, many of whom are ex-pats living in Australia and New Zealand.
