SUPPORT is available for civil servants who are reeling from the £2.6m fraud, a Treasury member has said.

Former civil servant Deputy Garry Collins, pictured, explained the impact the incident, which led to resignation of the department's chief officer Dale Holmes, has had on Frossard House.

'I was talking to a senior executive who said they had never walked round the departments and seen so many long faces – everyone is gutted,' he said.

'I still feel totally sick and totally shocked by what has happened and I know a lot of staff feel the same way. The civil service is a family and when we grieve, we grieve together.'

A criminal investigation was launched after Treasury paid £2.6m. due to airport contractor Lagan to a third party after receiving a fraudulent letter saying the construction firm's bank account had changed.
