Development work begins at former garage site

WORK began yesterday on a new housing development on the site of the former Stanley Road Garage.

A total of 17 homes will be built with completion currently scheduled for April/May 2014.

Three leylandii were felled on the first day of work.

Infinity Group construction director Ian Whattam said work on the substructure was expected to last for 48 weeks.

'The four homes on the road front have been designed to look similar to what is there already,' he said.
