Jethou staff spotted the three-week-old male on Friday afternoon and contacted the GSPCA and sent over pictures of the animal.

Staff began phoning boat owners who might help to fetch the animal and Bumblebee Boat Cruises offered to assist. The metre-long animal was picked up and given fluids to stabilise it before being transferred to Guernsey. Overnight it was fed every three hours.
