Sandy has saved our bacon, say Rosaire residents

ROSAIRE Court and Gardens residents have hailed the new restaurant owner a saviour after they were left to make their own food or were waited on by carers after the former owners walked out.

ROSAIRE Court and Gardens residents have hailed the new restaurant owner a saviour after they were left to make their own food or were waited on by carers after the former owners walked out.

Pensioners tucked into sausage and mash, soup and cottage pie yesterday as Sandy Brassell, who also manages the Victoria Arms, took over the extra care apartments restaurant.

‘A few of the residents, who are regulars at the public house, told me that nobody was running the restaurant and because I have been in the hospitality trade for a number of years, and have also run cafes before, I thought I would give it a go,’ she said.

‘We are keeping the menu very traditional because that’s what most of our senior clientele like.’

Well done Sandy. The residents are very lucky to have you there.

Well done Sandy. Mrs P had a plate full of warming food to enjoy; I appreciate that it is residents' choice in this private cafe, but do hope there is a larger portion of nutritious fresh vegetable items on the menu, if requested.
