Five on heroes shortlist

FIVE islanders have been shortlisted for the Specsavers Unsung Hero Award.

The public is being asked to choose a winner from Shaun Winterflood, Jane Northrop, Graham Williams, Roy Trustum and Evan Ozanne. In all, 13 people were nominated for the award, which recognises those who are dedicated to helping others in the local community.

A judging panel comprising Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins, the Lt-Governor's wife, Mrs Lynda Walker, and Lady Diana Rowland, wife of former Bailiff Sir Geoffrey, chose the shortlist.

'Deciding on a shortlist is always a difficult task because all of the nominees deserve an award for the great work they do for Guernsey's community,' said Dame Mary.
