Further delays to Admiral Park build as Environment makes another U-turn

ENVIRONMENT has made another U-turn over the multi-million pound Admiral Park development in a move that will cause further delay.

ENVIRONMENT has made another U-turn over the multi-million pound Admiral Park development in a move that will cause further delay.

The department has already admitted one embarrassing blunder when planners recommended it went ahead only to discover they had used out-of-date guidelines in the form of a planning brief approved more than a decade ago.

Now the board has backtracked over its decision to instead assess the development solely against the urban area plan having previously insisted that this was the best way forward.

In a statement posted to the States website, but not issued to the media, Environment says it will ask the Assembly to reinstate the outline planning brief which had been the source of its original mistake.

I've refrained from commenting on TIG for some time, fed up of reading how our amazing new government is wasting my taxes at every opportunity.

Bur here we go again, sounding like my usual broken record, how much money is this costing?

As always, these ineffective and inefficient people wouldn't last 5 minutes in the private sector.

Think I might start backtracking on paying my taxes until something drastic changes.

On the basis that it took this dilatory department eighteen months to conclude that Swallow Apartments at L'Ancresse could revert to private accommodation this is likely to be 'sorted' some time in the 2020's

It could be that SoG have realised that Guernsey does not require any further office space due to the economy in free fall along with the sainted finanace sector packing up and heading east.
