SCRAPPING postal price regulation could contribute to saving £90,000 in licence fees for Guernsey Post.

The utility currently pays £180,000 a year for its licence from the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities. But this could be halved under Cicra recommendations for reduced regulation.

Cicra chief executive Andrew Riseley said cutting supervision would decrease internal costs for Guernsey Post.

'We are extremely keen to hear how people think the postal industry should be regulated,' he said.
