MANY islanders have been left reeling today following the tragic death in Thailand of a local man and the woman he was travelling with.

The couple, both aged 35, were killed in a road traffic accident and their identities are expected to be officially confirmed today.

We'll bring you the latest on that story as soon as we are able.

Also today, we'll be investigating news that Legionella has been found at Alderney's Mignot Memorial Hospital. Routine tests have revealed unacceptable levels of the bacteria and we'll be finding out the implications of that.

We'll also be following up on today's front-page story about industrial space at The Bridge being converted to retail. We'll be looking into how much industrial land in the island is currently vacant, and whether the planning appeals tribunal decision could have set a precedent.

We'll also be getting reaction from garages and fuel suppliers to the news that super unleaded petrol will no longer be sold from the end of March, which will have an impact on those with vintage and high-performance vehicles.

Other stories we will be following up today include the recent vandalism of the North Beach toilets, the 'dog's breakfast' Sunday trading laws and the ongoing horsemeat saga.
