FRIDAY the 13th proved to be unlucky for one Guernsey FC star as he was sacked without fair procedure and without any reason, his advocate argued at an employment tribunal yesterday.

However, La Trelade Health Suite leaseholder Sheryl Batiste rejected the allegation that the dismissal in July last year was unfair.

She said former health suite assistant Scott Bougourd had not performed duties, such as cleaning the changing rooms and emptying bins, and had ignored complaints from customers.

In giving evidence, Mr Bougourd said he had no idea that 'informal conversations' with his employer had been verbal warnings, saying he never received any written confirmation of this or was notified about his right to appeal.

  • The tribunal will return its verdict within three weeks.
