POLICE have been dealing with an average of one new fraud case a day this year, according to Detective Constable Martin Todd.

And if the trend continues, it will be a record year for that type of crime.

The force's commercial fraud department and the Financial Intelligence Service have taken over OSA Recruitment's pop-up shop in Smith Street until tomorrow to advise members, individuals and businesses on how to act to prevent and deal with fraud.

DC Todd said people in Guernsey were not immune to the problem.

'People feel more cocooned then perhaps they should.'
