Scrutiny is to consider holding an investigation

SCRUTINY will discuss launching an investigation into the AFR affair.

Having sat through yesterday's briefing aimed at heading off growing discontent with how Home has handled the situation, committee chairman Paul Arditti, pictured, confirmed its intentions.

'Scrutiny will discuss it and will inform you of its decision,' he said. 'We must now go away and reflect carefully on what was said.'

The Home Department board is likely to discuss at its next meeting the reaction to both the briefing and the statement by its minister in the States on Wednesday.
