MANUAL workers face a pay freeze this year and other States employees fear the same.

Staff plan to meet with their union representative today to discuss their response to the States' intentions.

Unite's regional officer Bob Lanning, pictured, confirmed that a pay freeze was being proposed. He expected it to be widely rejected by workers.

'The pay deal is going to be zero as in what they are willing to offer is zero,' he said.

'I expect all groups are going to be in attendance, including the prison workers and nursing staff.

'They are all deeply concerned. '
