Many events around the island are cancelled again today, but the signs are that life is starting to get back to normal after what is being called 'snowmaggedon'.

How the island coped with the worst conditions in many years will be the focus of the news team today, and reporters will be talking to various government departments about how they fared and finding out if they think the contingency plans were sufficient.

Foremost among the States bodies we'll be talking to will be Education, who have closed the schools again today, and we'll also be catching up with some parents to see what they think of how the department handled the situation.

We'll also be talking to some of the passengers who were stuck on the Commodore Clipper when high winds made it impossible to dock here on Monday. Guernsey passengers ended up going to Jersey and then back to the UK. Their trip lasted some 30 hours.

The high winds also caused a lot of trees to fall in the island, and we'll be keeping a close eye on how the clearance is going during the day.

In other news, the presentation of the trophies for this year's Eisteddfod is due to take place tonight. If it goes ahead we'll have a report and pictures in tomorrow.

We'll also be getting the reaction of the Guernsey director of public health to the news that the UK looks set to drop plans to introduce a minimum price for alcohol.

In the sports pages tomorrow there'll be a report on Alison Merrien and Carol Ingrouilles' progress in the British Indoor Bowls women's pairs championship.

There'll also be news of the launch of a new Guernsey Golf Development Squad, aimed at young players aged between six and 16.

And there's a report on how some Guernsey cross-country runners helped Hampshire earn a clutch of team medals at the recent inter-counties championships.
