DOG owners returning from Crufts delayed the departure of a Channel Island ferry in the extreme weather, Condor has said.

The ferry company helped to transport 25 of the animals aboard the Commodore Clipper in gale-force winds on Monday.

Condor Ferries chief executive James Fulford said the vessel’s captain had done what was best for his customers.

But two dog owners tried to delay the loading of the ferry by wanting to move their vehicles.

‘The captain, knowing about the weather conditions and, with the safety of the passengers and crew foremost in his mind, felt that it was imperative to leave on time,’ Mr Fulford said.

‘Under law, his decision is final.’

Cousin Vinny

Hang on, how does

"DOG owners returning from Crufts delayed the departure"

and

"The captain...felt that it was imperative to leave on time"

work? If they left on time, why was the delay their fault?!

Oh Dear

Ah, you see. Dogs are the blame for everything that goes wrong Cousin Vinny.

They're ruining our wildlife. Trying to kill other dogs. Also they're the reason for our impressive weather on Monday. Oh and whilst we're at it, they started both World Wars and persuaded Blair to get involved in Iraq.

C'mon Cousin Vinny, don't be so harsh on the Guernsey Press. This is the online version and not the printed version which is written by qualified journalists. The online version is as everyone knows, written by computers which are not programmed to make any sense whatsoever. On the right for example, the computer tells me that 2,707 people like the Guernsey Press – and gives me examples of a monkey, a drum set and a pair of shoes!

Ectopudding

Same for me, although among the people I see who like it are a Gargoyle, a scuba diver and a clown!

Probably because the dog was feeling ruff

Sorry I am very confused about this story, no Captain of any Ship would hold back for anything if he has a schedule to run, I know as myself and my Husband run Contintental Ferries. Can someone please explain this to me, or is it another vendetta against Condor.

Don

On time??????some people get all the luck!!!!

Wuff-wuff!
