GUERNSEY police needs a 'proper, dedicated team' to tackle vandalism, according to a woman whose car was attacked after she abandoned it in the snow.

Upon returning to her vehicle she discovered it had been extensively damaged, with seven windows smashed and all four tyres slashed.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, said this sort of damage has 'gone on for several years' and it was time for it to be tackled.

'I think it is time the police deal with this vandalism. If the vandals do not think they are being targeted, they will carry on with impunity.'

  • A spokesman for Guernsey Police said: ‘Neighbourhood Policing Teams together with parish officials have been working hard to reduce such antisocial behaviour.’
