A NEW mum is raising money to buy a second specialist monitor for the hospital.

Kirstie Fort, 38, had her daughter, Izabella, delivered by Caesarean section seven weeks prematurely on 12 February.

For two weeks prior to the birth, she had to be attached daily to the hospital's only Sonicaid FM800 monitor. This, she said, resulted in long waits.

According to Health and Social Services, the Sonicaid FM800 is a foetal/maternal monitor that uses advanced technology to provide clinicians with information about unborn children.

During the time she was on the machine, Miss Fort decided she wanted to raise the money to buy a second monitor.
