A FORMER boathouse near Portelet harbour is expected to sell for more than £100,000 at auction next month.

The granite building, once an oil store, has been refurbished and was open to the public and potential bidders on Saturday.

Cooper Brouard auctioneer Julian Coles said it was a rare piece of Guernsey heritage to come on the market.

'We have had a lot of genuine interest from a mix of people so far.

'It would be nice to see the building go back to locals and get used for its original purpose as a boathouse,' he said.
